A American-Palestinian youth after completing nine months in Israel's custody absent formal charges has been freed.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested last February within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting from his Florida home for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.
The US state department applauded the teenager's freedom.
Currently aged sixteen, was taken to hospital for treatment immediately after release, relatives told the media.
They said he is pale, underweight, and experiencing medical problems acquired while detained.
Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle conveyed their "overwhelming sense of relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" over the last nine months.
"Right now, we're concentrating on ensuring Mohammed receives prompt healthcare he requires after being subjected to harsh conditions and cruel circumstances throughout his detention."
American authorities announced ongoing to provide consular support to the teenager's relatives.
{"American leadership has no higher priority to ensuring the safety of American nationals"," the department emphasized.
Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to the state department and the administration, urging greater action to release him.
Mr Ibrahim, with four children who runs an ice cream business in Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing because the soldiers beat him.
There were no visits nor direct contact following the detention, learning information solely regarding the treatment in detention through court documents.
The teenager remained without charge in Ofer prison on the West Bank.
It is also home to adult prisoners, including individuals found guilty of serious terrorism offences including killings.
Approximately 350 Palestinian minors in security custody currently imprisoned in Israel, per correctional service statistics.
Several lack formal charges while advocacy organizations, including UN bodies, report instances of abuse and torture.
After the teenager's freedom, family representatives announced relatives would persist in advocating demanding accountability for their family member family member Sayfollah.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen per medical officials was beaten to death by radical settlers amid clashes last July.
At the time, the Israeli military said officials were investigating accounts of a Palestinian had died.
The two cousins collaborated in the family ice cream shop in Tampa, Florida.
No indictments occurred with Sayfollah's killing.
"We demand United States leadership to protect our families," the uncle stated.
