Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the global break, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.
In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' sole away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was still that team's manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.
My son told me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
They have got lots of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.
But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at Fulham's home form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
