The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Minds of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The most recent action-packed game that gamers experienced was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for celebrating chaos and mayhem with equal glee, all while presenting gripping, socially charged tales. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two creators whose creations have exemplified all of those things.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's successful video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' structure by introducing a fresh location and cast of characters in each season.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series under their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and extremely entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we do not know what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the producer.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, placing faith in us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX partners always encourages me with their ongoing belief and backing.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style show. Every instalment is a variation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a story,” noted Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the nature of humanity through this complex and turbulent viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m excited to partner with Rob and introduce our mutual unconventional, ambitious style to the television.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
